In three days you’ll gain practical shooting and editing skills. You’ll be taught how to use words and pictures to tell an engaging story. Assess what makes a good story, and develop a thorough understanding of camera techniques.

During this course you’ll shoot two practical exercises. One of these will be a longer three to four minute story, set up by Top TV, in order to give you time to properly structure and plan your story board.
At the end of this workshop you will be assessed on:
1. Your ability to recognise, plan and script a short factual television story
2. Your communication and organisational skills
3. Your effective use of time and resources
4. Your camera and basic editing knowledge
5. How you translate an editorial brief into a well-crafted original story
6. Your ability to develop a strong visual story
