Top TV has recently won several major training contracts with Broadcasters and Production Companies. Top TV manages training budgets on behalf of companies as well as running bespoke courses to suit the demands of individual programme needs. Each member of our Training Team is an accredited Trainer in his or her particular field but more importantly, each Trainer has been carefully selected for their industry experience.

Channel 4 - Diversity Researcher Programme This unique course is a twelve-month training programme designed & delivered by Top TV and funded by Channel 4. It is aimed at new entrants from culturally diverse backgrounds to equip them with the skills, knowledge and experience of a television production researcher. The trainees are contracted to independent production companies for the year and receive monthly off-the-job training sessions organised by Top TV and delivered at C4 London premises.

Channel 4 - Disability Researcher Programme This new pilot 6 month project gives 6 students the opportunity to enter the TV industry at junior researcher level. It will open up opportunities in TV production to disabled people, via supported placements doing real jobs in programme production and post-production. The trainees will get a monthly training programme set up by Top TV to support their career development.

Channel 4 - City Project Top TV manages The City University course for Channel 4. This is a PostGraduate Diploma in TV & Journalism. On completion of the course in July, for those that do a dissertation during the summer and pass, they receive an MA in TV & Journalism.

Twofour Productions During the year Top TV has planned and developed an individual training programme to suit the demands of this busy production company. Courses range from how to make a taster tape, how to budget and schedule to creating ideas and writing proposals.

Endemol UK Top TV has trained Endemol researchers, delivered a course looking at how production staff and management can work more closely together and is currently developing an in-house director training workshop.

At It Productions Top TV is currently developing a DV training workshop.

Press Association Top TV are running a series of special presenter training courses for Broadcast Journalists.
