This two day practical workshop aims to give candidates the tools of the research trade. You'll learn how to choose a story, assess potential programme contributors, brainstorm the papers, and develop good interview techniques.

Throughout this course you'll have to carry out a number of practical assignments. These include making a phone call to a potential contributor, selling stories to the editor and developing your interview skills.
At the end of this workshop you will be assessed against the following criteria:

2. A strong idea of a story and what that means
3. Lateral thinking, perseverance and drive
4. Awareness of the TV and Media world
